Amazons and Gladiators another disappointing effort (although I haven't seen it myself yet). There appears to be little in the way of gladiatrix activity, and the fx are poor. The Arena "See Wild Women fight to the death!" This 1973 exploitation film is disappointing overall, but any movie that stars Pam Grier as a gladiatrix can't be all bad. (Warning: link contains a little nudity!) The Arena This is a 2001 remake of the 1973 original. It sucks so bad that it hurts. There is only one watchable duel, and even that isn't up to much. Shame shame shame. The Perils of Gwendoline An amazing amazon movie from France. Do try to get the European cut; the American version has had the gladiatrixes almost entirely removed. Phoenix the Warrior - a wonderfully sleazy amazon/post apocalypse movie. Starring Persis Khambatta and Kathleen Kinmont (both of whom should have known better). The highlight is a gladiatrix sequence with 4 fights. Lovely! Thor and the amazon women A cheesy sixties sword and sandal movie with TONS of gladiatrix madness! (Its UK title is "Women Gladiators"). Sign of the Cross the 1932 version...Cecil B. DeMille goes bonkers with a spectacular battle between "amazons" and "pygmies". Grotesque and magical all at the same time...
