What do these symbols mean?

N Empty box An empty box next to a title indicates that, for whatever reason, I have not yet watched this video. Most of the titles I haven't seen were suggested to me by at least two other people, so I am reasonalby certain that they contain a scene (or scenes) of asphyxia, but I am unable to personally verify this at the present time. Basically, what I'm saying is that if you rent the movie and there is no asphyxia related scene, I'm sorry, but it's not my fault.

Y Checked box If the box next to a title is checked, it means that I have watched that particular video. Eventually, all the 'checked' titles will also have [Info] buttons next to them. I personally guarantee that these videos contain scenes of asphyxia, but I don't make any promises on the quality of the scene. I don't have any more control over that than you do.

[TV] Television When you see this little TV next to a title, it's to let you know that this is a made-for-television movie that is not, to the best of my knowledge, available for rent on video. In recent years, it has become something of a popular practise for studios to release these movies on tape after a few months. Sometimes these videos even contain footage considered to 'hot' for TV. The only thing I can suggest you do if you want to see these movies, is check your local listings. Every now and then they get re-broadcast, usually as a late show.

* Asterisk This symbol is my way of telling you that the only way you're going to be able to see this video is if you buy it. A majority of the titles are independantly produced, low budget movies for either the horror or adult markets (or even for both!). Personally, I enjoy watching these tapes a great deal and hope to be making them myself some day.

[Sample Pics] Camera I know it might be too small for you to recognize, but the camera next to a title is a link to an index of pics from that title. When I first put up this site, the first thing people wanted to know was 'Are you going to have pics from these movies?' At first, I said 'No', but then Retrotek kindly offered his services. I tell him what movie the pictures come from and he puts the indices together.

[Info] 'Info' button Following this link will take you to a page containing details about the title the button was beside. There aren't many of these available right now, but I'm working on it. The biggest problem with this page, in my opinion, was it's lack of detailed information. Hopefully, these steps will remedy that short-coming.

Where can I buy these videos ?

A good place to start looking is on the 'Vendors' page here in the Guide. I regularIy search the Web for film distributors and anyone that might have any information as to where these movies or any others may be available for sale. Eventually, I plan on adding information as to where a particular tape can be purchased to that title's 'General Information' page.

If a video is available, you can probably find it from one or more of these sources. Feel free to ask me for help if you can't find something, though.

If anyone has any information they would like to pass on regarding tape sales, please contact me.

Where did you get your pics ?

Nearly all the pics that can be found on these pages have been previously posted to alt.sex.asphyx. Some of them have been sent directly to Retrotek by people who do not have access to the newgroup, and others have been sent to me. There are even a few that I captured from videos myself. Chances are, all of them will be posted or reposted before too long.

The artwork on this site has been made available to me directly from the artist. I have editted each picture only to make the backgrounds transparent. Before I put the work on the page, I obtained the expressed permission of the artist. If anyone wants a copy of the original version of any of these pics let me know.

Where can I get the sample pics ?

There are two ways by which you can obtain copies of the pics seen in the indices.
You could:
Make a request in alt.sex.asphyx
This is probably the best method for everyone. As far as I know, ASA is not a very large group, but we are getting more new members all the time. If you didn't catch these pics the first time around (either your server didn't get them, or you hadn't found the group yet) just ask. It's more than likely Retrotek, myself, or someone else will help you out.
Ask me
If you don't have access to ASA or if you requested something from the group and no one got back to you, then you can ask me. I've got most of the pics on the sample sheets and will be more than happy to send them out.

Where did you get your information ?

Whenever possible, the information included in these pages comes driectly from the video itself. While I'm watching, I make note of anything I might need to know for the site. Anything I can't get (like names of some actors) I look for in the credis.

However, I also use the following sources:
Infobusiness' Mega Movie Guide 2.0
Corel's All-Movie Guide 2
The Internet Movie Database
VideoHound's Golden Movie Retriever (1997 edition)

To the best of my knowledge, all the information I provide is accurate. Please write me if you find an error or know something that you would like to see me include.

How did you find these titles ?

A majority of these titles I discovered the hard way. Over the years I've spent countless hours searching through dozens of video stores and renting literally hundreds of tapes. Not that I'm saying I didn't enjoy it. I'm a great fan of all types of movies and my personal collection of tapes range fromthe absolutely horrible to Oscar winners. So I suppose you could call it a labour of love.

Of course, not all the titles are for rent and there are plenty of movies that the local stores in my area don't have. These titles I learned about through alt.sex.asphyx or from people who have written to me with suggestions for the site. I am always on the lookout for asphyxia movies that I haven't seen or heard of, so if you know any please let me know.
